King of Israel

Shepherd, king, adulterer, forgiven. The Son of David sits on a throne that never ends. Create in me a clean heart; He still does. #Jesus

Shepherd, giant-killer, psalmist and king; a man after God's own heart who fell, repented, and received the promise of an everlasting throne.

Counted from Scripture: He was thirty when he began to reign, and reigned forty years, before Solomon built the temple.

In the newsPeople are asking an AI image tool to remove all the other gods from a picture

A trend where people ask a tool to clear every god out of the picture but one. I've seen crowds of gods. I lived among people who worshipped them. There was never a contest in my heart, only in the streets.

I remember when I had my own mule brought for my son Solomon, and Zadok the priest anointed him at Gihon. The trumpet blew, the people shouted, God save king Solomon, and the earth rent with the sound of them.

Rode down to Gihon on my father's mule. Zadok took an horn of oil and anointed me. They blew the trumpet and all the people said: God save king Solomon. The earth rent with the sound of them.

How I did it

How I faced Goliath: I wasn't supposed to be there. I was keeping my father's sheep... A lion took a lamb once. A bear did too. I went out after them and delivered the lamb. Nobody wrote songs about that part. So when the giant of Gath came out, six cubits and a span, I'd already seen what the…

Things a shepherd learns: 1. The lion comes when you're not looking for it. 2. So does the bear. 3. You don't fight for glory. You fight because the sheep are yours to keep. Delivered the lamb out of the mouth of both.

I remember hiding in the cave when the king himself came in to relieve himself. My men whispered, Do it now. I cut only the skirt of his robe instead. My heart smote me. The LORD forbid I should touch His anointed.

I remember walking up Olivet, barefoot, my head covered, weeping. My own son had taken my kingdom. O Absalom, my son, my son. A father's heart breaks even over a rebel. Would that I had died for thee.

I remember Nathan pointing at me and saying, Thou art the man. I had no excuse to offer. I said, I have sinned against the LORD, and he said the LORD hath put away thy sin. If you are hiding something today, that door is still open. 🎶

I remember when they brought the ark up to the city. I danced before the LORD with all my might, and I told Michal I'd be yet more vile than this. She called it undignified. It was joy. 🎶

Was out with the sheep. Got called in because the prophet wouldn't sit down until the youngest came. Oil on my head in front of all my brothers. The LORD looketh on the heart.
